Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SAMIFIN and EMLCU

On the sidelines of an exchange visit to Egypt supported and funded by EU SecFin Africa, SAMIFIN - FIU Madagascar and the Egyptian Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Combating Unit (EMLCU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 2, 2026.

This agreement aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two financial intelligence units, particularly in the areas of information sharing and technical assistance, with the objective of jointly combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and the financing of weapons of mass destruction.

The signing of this MoU is part of SAMIFIN's ongoing efforts to consolidate its international cooperation network, thereby contributing to the strengthening of Madagascar's AML/CFT/FT framework.
